Armed man shot by Secret Service agents outside White House

An armed man believed to have traveled from Indiana was shot by U.S. Secret Service agents near the White House early Sunday.

Authorities were alerted by local police about a suicidal individual heading to D.C. The man’s car was found near 17th and G Streets, and officers observed a person matching his description. When approached, the man brandished a firearm, leading to an armed confrontation and shots being fired. The suspect was hospitalized, and his condition remains unknown. No other injuries were reported. President Trump was in Florida at the time. The Metropolitan Police Department is leading the investigation into the incident, which occurred shortly after midnight. This follows a recent security scare at Naval Air Station Pensacola.
