Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced Wednesday the arrest of an MS-13 “kingpin” in Omaha, Nebraska. The suspect, who remains unnamed, is listed on El Salvador’s “100 Most Wanted” list and is sought for serious crimes including aggravated homicide of five individuals, attempted homicide, deprivation of liberty, and association with a terrorist organization, according to an ICE press release.
In the same operation, ICE agents apprehended another MS-13 gang member described as a foreign terrorist. That individual is wanted in a Central American country for allegedly orchestrating violent crimes such as murder and drug trafficking. The arrests were part of a targeted enforcement effort focused on eliminating high-level threats to public safety.
“These illegal aliens didn’t just sneak into our country—they brought a legacy of violence, terror, and death,” said Mark Zito, Special Agent in Charge of ICE Homeland Security Investigations in Kansas City. “They thought they could hide in America’s heartland, but they were sadly mistaken.”
ICE acting Director Todd M. Lyons cautioned against interference during federal operations. “Misinformation could lead someone to unknowingly walk into a federal takedown and come face-to-face with a killer,” Lyons said. “Our officers are protecting neighborhoods—even when people don’t know the danger is there. Support them, or step aside.”
The arrests come shortly after the enactment of the “Big Beautiful Bill,” which boosted ICE’s annual budget from \$2 billion to \$45 billion. White House border czar Tom Homan said the agency now aims to carry out 7,000 deportations daily, potentially removing 1.2 million individuals by year’s end.
