Fox News anchor Bret Baier acknowledged the growing public frustration surrounding President Donald Trump’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein sex trafficking case. During Wednesday’s Special Report, Baier began by recognizing Trump’s successes on issues like border security and trade. However, he emphasized that Epstein’s case continues to dominate public discourse. “The story doesn’t go away,” Baier remarked, signaling ongoing interest and controversy.
Baier noted that Trump has said his attorney general should release any Epstein-related documents she believes are credible. Still, this statement has not quelled concerns. In fact, it has caused a divide among Trump supporters—some of whom are demanding more transparency and feel that the administration is downplaying the issue.
Fox correspondent David Spunt joined the segment to further emphasize the case’s continued relevance. At the same time, the Department of Justice confirmed to a federal court that it is actively reviewing Epstein-related materials. This is in connection to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit filed by Judicial Watch, a conservative watchdog group pushing for full disclosure.
Alan Dershowitz, who once represented Epstein, told NewsNation that it is the courts—not Trump or his DOJ—that are suppressing documents. According to Dershowitz, there is no “client list,” only redacted FBI affidavits from alleged victims. He claimed none of the named individuals are current officeholders, though some were previously in office or are deceased.
Despite these assurances, public skepticism remains high. Critics continue to demand full transparency, arguing that the case raises serious concerns about institutional accountability, justice, and the power of the elite.
