Once a staunch anti-Trump Republican, the 79-year-old recently praised Trump on social media, applauding his creation of the U.S. Department of Government Efficiency for uncovering billions in wasteful spending. Reagan remarked that his father would have been proud of Trump’s efforts.
Reagan criticized those selectively invoking his father’s legacy while disregarding his principles, noting, “Give Trump time and get out of the way.” This change is notable, given his past criticisms of Trump, including his opposition in 2016 and beyond. Today, Reagan seems to offer Trump more flexibility in pursuing his MAGA agenda, distancing himself from past criticisms.
