Death Row Inmate’s Final Meal Revealed Ahead of Historic Firing Squad Execution

South Carolina is set to make history with its first firing squad execution, drawing national attention.

Brad Sigmon, convicted in 2001 for brutally killing his ex-girlfriend’s parents, is scheduled to be executed. Sigmon, 67, has requested three buckets of KFC chicken as his last meal, which he plans to share with fellow inmates. His crime, involving a violent baseball bat assault and a failed kidnapping attempt, has sparked debates over the death penalty, particularly due to questions about his mental health at the time of the killings. Despite ongoing appeals claiming Sigmon’s psychosis, his execution is proceeding. The use of a firing squad, rare in modern times, has prompted reactions from both death penalty advocates and critics, particularly regarding the fairness and morality of such executions.
