President Donald Trump claimed that former President Barack Obama “owes me big” after a U.S. Supreme Court ruling granted immunity for presidential acts. However, Trump warned that this protection does not extend to Obama’s former aides. Trump, who benefited from the ruling last year, accused Obama of treason and sedition for ordering an intelligence study on Russia’s alleged interference in the 2016 election.
Trump labeled Obama the “leader of the gang” behind efforts to mislead the public and launch investigations into Trump’s supposed collusion with Russia to defeat Hillary Clinton. These allegations triggered extensive FBI and congressional probes that dominated much of Trump’s first term.
Tulsi Gabbard, citing an email from Director of National Intelligence, revealed that Obama ordered a review concluding Russia helped Trump win. However, Gabbard claims intelligence showed Russia expected Clinton to win and withheld damaging information on her for later release. At a White House briefing, she accused Obama’s administration of fueling the collusion narrative and subverting Trump’s victory.
Gabbard submitted a criminal referral to the Justice Department and stated that whistleblowers from the intelligence community, “disgusted” by what they witnessed, are now coming forward seeking justice. She emphasized that all responsible, regardless of power or position, must be held accountable.
In response, the Department of Justice created a “strike force” to investigate evidence released by Gabbard. This team of prosecutors and investigators focuses on serious fraud and misconduct and will examine the allegations that Obama officials fabricated intelligence to support the collusion claims against Trump.
